Mosier Valley

Historic Mosier Valley is where the first freed Texans settled after the Emancipation Proclamation and is the oldest African American community in Tarrant County. Established in the 1870s, the community was initially made up of about ten families who established a close-knit, successful farming community, known for public festivals with string bands and square dancing from 1910 through the 1930s.

Mosier Valley is on the banks of the Trinity River near DFW airport and was incorporated into Fort Worth when the City extended it's boundaries to the airport in the 1960s.

Randol's Mill

Randol's Mill was built in 1856 and originally named Leonard's Mill after Archibald Franklin Leonard, close associate of Henry Clay Daggett who went on become elected to the House of Representatives in 1870. The mill was a water-driven, turbine-powered mill and cotton gin located off Precinct Line Road by the Trinity River, which also served as a community center and voting location. The mill was sold to R.A. Randol in 1876 and operated until 1916. R.A. Randol deeded one acre of land in east Fort Worth where his brother was buried after being killed in a mill accident in 1894.

White Lake Dairy 1918-1960

The White Lake Hills neighborhood was once a dairy farm with rolling hills, a small lake and land by the Trinity River. The grain silo is still visible on Oakland Boulevard just North of I-30. The location was voted one of the best views of Downtown Forth Worth. In the early 1960's, the land was developed into the White Lake Hills neighborhood.
